Music Choices

In a film of any kind, music plays an important role, it sets the tone and reinforces the images on screen. Choosing music for my short film was a particularly difficult task as appropriate music that fit with the theme or the feel of the film was difficult to come by. However I narrowed down my music choices to a few good pieces that I ended up using.

1. The Tower - Metro 2033 soundtrack

I used this in the section of my short before the credits as I felt it fit the scene of a hunt well, it is ominous and foreboding and reflected the tension the character felt well.

2. Gruppa Krovi - Kino

Quite a famous song from the 80s about the Soviet-Afghan war, I felt like the opening instrumental fit a credits sequence well and timing cuts to the music seemed to have a good effect, feedback from my audience confirmed that this was a good choice.

3. The Shagohod theme - Snake Eater soundtrack

Another rather ominous track that reflects an approaching confrontation I felt worked in the context of the scenes I used it with, its creates a heavy atmosphere and anticipation for action, climaxing well with the climax of my footage.
